We are pleased to announce that Attorney Monika Koleci has joined our firm. She joins us as an associate attorney who will be working across several practice areas with a focus in our municipal law practice.

Monika earned her undergrad degree from Oakland University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and was a part of the Editorial Board for the Pi Sigma Alpha Journal. She graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in May 2021. While in law school she was an active member of the Student Bar Association as well as the Executive Secretary of the Association.

Upon graduation, Monika worked as an associate attorney where she prosecuted traffic violations and criminal cases on behalf of the City of Eastpointe and the City of St. Clair Shores. She also has experience in drafting pleadings, motions, and conducting legal research for criminal and civil cases.

Fun facts about Monika: She is fluent in writing and speaking Albanian. She also is a published author. She wrote the book Shame Among the Shameless in 2020. This is a non-fiction story about a family from Albania who were harshly persecuted for resisting the communist regime at the end of World War II.
