Dena Keller joins Beier Howlett after serving 27 years at the Macomb County Prosecutors Office. Her vast experience consisted of prosecuting major drug crimes, homicide trials, felony criminal cases, and domestic violence cases, among many others. Her time at the prosecutor’s office provided her with specialized knowledge in many areas including search and seizure issues, as well as excellent training and presentation skills, and substantial trial experience. Dena has worked in conjunction with DEA, FBI, HSI, Border Patrol, local police departments, MSP, Sheriff’s Department, and various joint task forces involved in circuit, district, juvenile, and drug court proceedings. 

Dena is an expert at advising and collaborating with opposing counsel, police officers, victims, and social services. She has written, researched and argued legal briefs pertaining to controlled substance crimes and trained narcotics police crews as well as MSP forensic scientists, DEA, police academy cadets and interns on search and seizure, expert testimony, surveillance, drug trends, report writing, medical marijuana, and how to testify at trial.
